My belief, for what it is worth, is that city dwellers cannot understand the world. Insulated from reality by complex and expert systems of provision and police, baffled by fashion and spectacle, city dwellers can distinguish neither the sources of their existence nor the consequences.

 Most of us have a list of “I want to’s” but far fewer of us go any further than that. Why? It’s not because we can’t, although sometimes we like to tell ourselves that. It’s really because we don’t want to bad enough. If it’s important you’ll find a way. If (it’s) not, you’ll find an excuse.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaninful.

Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become.

It's a lot of fun to be able to run around with guns and scream and yell and do the kind of FBI-cop kind of stuff, which is different than what I've been doing, which is kind of playing the boy-girl thing. Its always fun to kiss the pretty girl, but sometimes, amazingly, you can get bored with that, too.

I say 'as it were' or 'so to speak' too often because puns and double entendres keep insinuating themselves into my consciousness as I'm talking.

I thank God for my failures. Maybe not at the time but after some reflection. I never feel like a failure just because something I tried has failed.

If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. You must try to generate happiness within yourself.

The grand irony, however, is that Southern segregation was not brought to an end, nor redneck violence dramatically reduced, by violence.

We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.

A friend at school was always being laughed at because his father emptied dustbins for a living. But those who laughed worshipped famous footballers. This is an example of our topsy-turvy (chaotic, messy, disorganized) view of 'success.' Who would we miss most if they did not work for a month, the footballer or the garbage collector?

Suffering passes, while love is eternal. That's a gift that you have received from God. Don't waste it.
